Public Service Loan Forgiveness

Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)

If you’re employed by the government or a non-for-profit organization, you may be eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.

PSLF forgives the remaining balance on your direct loans after you’ve made the equivalent of 120 qualifying monthly payments under an accepted repayment plan while working for an eligible employer.

To benefit from PSLF, you should complete and submit the PSLF form each year. This information is used to determine if your employment qualifies and to confirm you’re making qualifying payments.
